Scaling

Scaling is a procedure of removing plaque and calculus. The purpose of removing the plaque and calculus is because they are accumulation of bacteria which can cause severe periodontal disease ultimately resulting in tooth loose.

Filling

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. When a dentist gives you a filling, he or she first removes the decayed tooth material, cleans the affected area, and then fills the cleaned out cavity with a filling material. By closing off spaces where bacteria can enter, a filling also helps prevent further decay.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is needed when they decay had extended into the centre of the tooth which is where the nerves located at. The bacteria will infect the whole root and cause severe pain.

The procedure is to remove, clean and fill the root canal to relieve the pain and prevent further infections. Multiple visits are needed for root canal treatment.

Crown

No, not the one u wear on your head …

Crown were usually needed when the tooth had a large decay, or a tooth had went through root canal treatment. The crown will be covering the whole tooth to provide support and protection.

Surgical Removal of Wisdom Tooth

Sometimes you need to sacrifice some teeth to save the others …

Wisdom tooth removal is needed when its position in a wrong direction. It will cause food stuck which result in swelling of the gums, pain, and also decay of the tooth in front of it. For preventive measures, malposition wisdom tooth are usually removed before any decay happens to the tooth in front.

Denture

Dentures is use to replaced missing teeth for aesthetic and functional purpose. Dentures can be classified into a few types, acrylic dentures, flexible dentures and Cobalt-chrome dentures (metal base).

Whitening is the process of lightening the color of human teeth. Whitening is often desirable when teeth become yellowed over time for a number of reasons, and can be achieved by changing the intrinsic or extrinsic color of the tooth enamel.

Dental Braces

Dental braces are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help position them with regard to a person’s bite, while also aiming to improve dental health. Braces work by exerting constant pressure on teeth and jaws to change their position and alter the smile. The brackets glued to teeth hold the archwire in place which places pressure on teeth. Over time teeth move into the desired position.
